McCann to make job offer following speed pitch at first ever Birmingham Design Festival

As part of our sponsorship of the first ever Birmingham Design Festival, McCann is challenging anyone in the UK to give a 130 second creative pitch to claim a job with us in Birmingham.

We’re delighted to be one of the main partners at the four-day Festival running from 7 – 10 June and have taken a stand at the Birmingham & Midland Institute building on Margaret Street. From there we’ll be giving aspiring creatives from all walks of life 130 seconds, in honour of Harry McCann’s lucky number 13, to demonstrate their creative streak to the senior team at McCann and claim a fully paid role with us.

The 130 second pitches will take place on 7, 8 and 9 June at the McCann stand with the lucky winner to be revealed on the final day of the festival after a talk by McCann strategy director Ringo Moss in the BCU Steamhouse from 1pm – 2:40pm.

Chris Robertson, Executive Creative Director at McCann Birmingham, says: “Birmingham has been crying out for a festival that celebrates its creativity for a long time. I’m an American that has worked all over the world for some of the most highly sought after brands, in some of the world’s most creative cities. Birmingham is the 2nd largest city in the UK and is up there with them.

“I may be an adopted Brummie, but I’m pleased to say that I come from here and I’m proud of the work we do. We want this process to be for everyone who takes part and not just the person that gets the gig. It is about being creative and enjoying the process”
