Bankrupt of England: Money Buddies and McCann Birmingham Launch Campaign
Published on 31st March 2022Debt advice charity Money Buddies has launched a new campaign, developed by McCann Birmingham, to highlight the impact of rising energy costs across the UK. With millions of people just one energy bill away from financial disaster, the ‘Bankrupt of England’ campaign shines a light on the real-life impact of the cost of living crisis.
Rolled out across OOH and social media, the campaign seeks to spark conversation, bring attention to those most in need, and generate donations to Money Buddies. On each banknote-style poster, the usual famous faces have been replaced by those who are being hardest hit in the current crisis, along with their expressions of worry for all to see. Each poster also has a QR code which users can scan to donate either £20, £10, or £5 to the charity.
Sylvia Simpson, CEO at Money Buddies said “As the cost of living continues to rise, we’re seeing a significant increase in the number of people requiring the guidance and support of services such as Money Buddies. There is a real crisis impacting millions of people across the UK and we hope that this campaign will help raise awareness and encourage those who need help to seek it.”
Adam Bodfish, Executive Creative Director at McCann Birmingham said “Spiralling energy prices are having a devastating impact on so many households. We need to make sure those people are being seen and heard, and that charities like Money Buddies can continue providing support to those in need.”
Media planning and buying has been handled by Rapport and UM Birmingham.
